Working in public administration is an ideal career for school leavers, those wanting a change from working in the private sector or for graduates. Local government roles can mean offering support and help to the public, assisting with social care, managing leisure facilities and a range of other worthwhile roles. If you're considering a job in this sector, then you might wish to seek out a short work placement first to see if it really does suit you. It will also give you a chance to decide which part of local government you might wish to work for (education, social services, planning etc).
