Harrogate is a spa town and a popular tourist destination in North Yorkshire, with many visitor attractions including beautiful RHS Harlow gardens and the famous Bettys Tea Rooms. The town was formed in the 17th century when two other settlements merged, and it is situated near many other large towns and cities such as York and Leeds. It has ample transport connections with a city centre bus and rail station, and Leeds Bradford international airport just ten miles away. The A61 is the main road through the town which connects Harrogate to Leeds and Ripon.
It is a dormitory town for working in the cities of Bradford and Leeds. Harrogate is prosperous and as a result it is home to some of the highest property prices in England, with many properties in the town and surrounding villages valued at around £1 million. Various universities are within commutable distance, including in the cities of Leeds and York.
