Situated in Northamptonshire, this market town was once famous for its shoe and boot manufacturing industry; however since the decline, the town’s economy is now based on the service and distribution industry, due to its central location. Weetabix cereal is also manufactured in the town. Kettering is governed by a two-tier system – Northamptonshire County Council and Kettering Borough Council. The A14 links the town with the A45 dual carriageway, M1 and M6 motorways. The railway station offers direct services to London, Derby, Nottingham, Leeds and Sheffield.
