Optical Express, the vision correction firm, has revealed that it is to create 100 new Glasgow jobs. The positions being offered are customer care jobs that are located in the Glasgow based call centre and will provide local residents with a great chance to work at one of the UK’s leading eye companies.

Based in Cumbernauld, Optical Express offers a range of treatments including eye tests, laser eye surgery and a host of additional cosmetic surgery options. It currently has 180 stores spread throughout Europe and employ approximately 3,000 people. Over the coming year, the company will not only increase the number of jobs available at its Glasgow call centre but will also open 24 new clinics in out-of-town areas so that more people have access to services.

Speaking of the new jobs and the company’s expansion, Optical Express’ operations director, Hugh Kerr, said: “Our strategy is to continue to invest in our service offering to deliver the best eye care treatment solution available in the UK, whether that be spectacles, contact lenses or laser eye surgery. This investment and recruitment drive underscores our commitment to deliver the most technologically advanced service in the UK but also at the lowest possible cost to the consumer.

With the 24 new clinics opening in addition to treatments becoming more accessible and affordable for many people, Optical Express is expecting a large rise in business. For residents in Glasgow, it means 100 new employment opportunities that will boost the local area’s economy.
