For jobseekers not content with working in an office all their lives, there is a range of slightly more unusual jobs out there to satisfy every taste. Whether you are looking for jobs in Brighton or Birmingham, you’re sure to find some interesting positions that require you to dress down rather than don your favourite suit.
1. Lifeguard
The ideal job for anyone who is community minded, being a lifeguard can be a great job whether you work at a pool or the beach. In Britain, you should be aware that beach lifeguards will not work the entire year, so finding a position at your local swimming pool is favourable.
2. Life Model
In the life modelling world there are no requirements for body shape; in fact, the art welcomes all shapes and sizes. Sitting in exactly the same pose for several hours is far more difficult than you may think, but art groups and colleges are often crying out for new models.
3. Underwear Model
If you have a lovely face and a stunning midriff, then you could look to become an underwear model. Like hand models, who offer their hands for catalogue shots of rings and jewellery, you could make a fortune showing off the latest boxers or briefs.
4. Magician’s Assistant
Amazed by magic and want to know how it is done? Becoming a magician’s assistant will not only bring you inside the secret circle but also allow you to wear the skimpiest outfits as you fit into the smallest boxes possible.
5. Personal Trainer
If stripping down to training gear is attractive to you, then becoming a personal trainer (PT) is ideal. There are a large number of recruitment options up and down the country for PTs, allowing you to get fit and help others stay healthy.
6. Yoga Teacher
Yoga, Pilates and other forms of meditative exercise all require individuals to strip down and wear the bare essentials for as much flexibility as possible. If you love yoga, then you could consider turning it into a full time job.
7. Swimming Instructor
Whilst many swimming instructors stay fully clothed, some teachers, especially in baby swimming classes, like to get into the pool. It is a great way to teach youngsters how to swim whilst staying fit at the same time.
8. Holiday Rep
If you are young and full of energy, then getting a job as a holiday rep could be ideal. If you are lucky, you will be posted somewhere hot and sunny, allowing your work attire to become shorts and a T-shirt at most.
9. Burlesque Dancer
Burlesque dancing may be seen as a little erotic, but the dance form has become very popular. The style suits curvy women in particular, and you could discover an entirely new side to yourself by starting out in such a job.
10. Wrestler
Wrestling is big business, and if you don’t mind getting into a few scrapes, it could be ideal if you want to ditch the suit. From amateur leagues to pro circuits, there is the chance to make money and notoriety as the next big thing on the wrestling scene.
