This large town in Surrey is a part of the Greater London Urban Area and the London commuter belt. This means that frequent trains connect it to Waterloo station in just 24 minutes. The town has a population of around 63,000 lies around 20 miles southwest of Charing Cross in central London.
There is a modern shopping centre called The Peacocks, which underwent regeneration recently to add a new façade to the town square. The more traditional Wolsey Place also provides shopping facilities. The Chertsey Road area provides plenty of restaurants and nightclubs for evening entertainment.
